Currier House

Dooley and Dingle
     Stopped to stay
At an Irish Inn
     One summer's day.

Each traveled alone
     How could that be?
It's American
     Femininity.

The hostelry's lore
     And mysteries
Trail back to young days
     Of USA's history.

Dooley and Dingle
     Laughed a lot
Without strong spirits
     Or wayward pot.

Dooley and Dingle were
     Travelers just met.
Soon they were friends,
     No plan, no sweat.

Dooley and Dingle -
     Each came alone.
But when they left
     It was from home.

Written by our dear friend and neighbor, Jane Jacksteit in 9/2006.
We miss her.

Welcome to Currier House

We are sorry to report that due to the ongoing pandemic, as a precautionary measure, we are currently not accepting any guests. An announcement will be made when we are ready to reopen. Stay safe!

Currier House Bed and Breakfast offers casual comfort for your "home away from home" in a beautiful location in historic, downtown Havre de Grace.

Overlooking the juncture of the Susquehanna River and the Chesapeake Bay, Currier House has a spectacular view of the Concord Point Lighthouse, the Maritime Museum, and the waterfront - all just one block east. Here you can enter the waterfront promenade for a 1/2 mile boardwalk to the City Yacht Basin and Tydings Park.

The Currier House, with history dating back to the 1700s, displays family heirlooms, artifacts and momentos throughout the home. Its decor reflects the Havre de Grace late historical period when the town was a regional recreational center that attracted waterfowl hunters who gunned on the Flats and horsemen who wagered at the local thoroughbred track. Visit our History Page for more details.
